Thank you so much for the wonderful work that you did on my mother’s 1950’s look a like doll. When I was little I saw a picture of this doll in Mom’s baby book and it looked like and was the size of her. About three years ago, I was in the attic with her looking through a box and inside a bag was the arms, and body and head and she told me it was that doll. I thought, geez this thing is all messed up. Granted at the time they were cleaning out their house to begin renovations. I said what are you going to do with it? She said put it in another trash bag as it is falling apart and when I die, you can get rid of it. At that point I knew that this doll still meant something to her. I got it out of the attic and brought it to you and you told me that the body could probably not be salvaged, but that you could fix it up with a cloth body and porcelain arms and legs and clean up the face a little. Not that long after, you called me and told me that she was ready. I will never forget when I saw her after your work. She looked just like the pictures from mom’s first Christmas. Mom had no idea that I had this done for her. Carefully I put the doll in a bag and when we opened Christmas presents, this was Mom’s last gift. She opened it and said “My baby, where did you find her?” I told her how I had her redone and she was so excited. She began talking to the doll and said she would never go back in the attic again and that she was all new. I had no idea what her reaction would be, but she was so happy. The doll now resides on the bed in the guest room of my parents house, which is the antique iron bed that has been in our family since the Civil War. She is at home now and will be preserved for generations to come thanks to your hard work.
